The collection, assembled by Harry F. Chaplin, with an introduction by him, contains autograph letters, translations, manuscripts and poems, published and unpublished by Brennan; a representative range of first editions, presentation, inscribed and associated copies; commentaries on Brennan by Lionel Lindsay, E. J. Brady, Norman Lindsay, Zora Cross, John LeGay Brereton and A.G. Stephens; miscellaneous letters, albums and portraits including some by Lionel Lindsay, Hal Gye, and Norman Lindsay. Correspondents include A. G. Stephens, John LeGay Brereton, Dowell O'Rielly, J. J. Quinn, H.M. Green, Julian Ashton, Lionel Lindsay, Norman Lindsay, Will Ogilvie and Hugh McCrae.
